Atlas Pressed Metals Receives the 2022 Powder Metallurgy Parts Association (PMPA) Safety Award

Las Vegas, Nevada, June 2023

The leading North American technical conference on powder metallurgy and particulate materials, POWDERMET is a hub for technology transfer for professionals from every part of the industry.

PowderMet is organized by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) which is a federation of six trade associations representing various aspects of powder metallurgy (PM). The mission of the MPIF is to advance the interests of the metal powder producing and consuming industries.

This year, the show was co-located with AMPM (Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy).   AMPM 2023 featured worldwide industry experts presenting the latest technology developments in this fast-growing field. Topics included materials, processes, technical advances & barriers, and applications.

At the recent conference, the 2022 Powder Metal Parts Association Safety awards were presented. Atlas Pressed Metals was recognized again this year for best safety performance and no lost time accidents.

“Safety is the number 1 priority for our MPIF members, so it is extremely important that we recognize members that have had successful safety programs. This includes recognizing those facilities that complete one year without a lost time accident”, says James Adams, Executive Director/CEO of the MPIF.

“Atlas is very proud to receive this award again this year. The safety team at Atlas has created a strong communication system for all safety issues. Today, everyone here is involved in the Safety process…and it is working!” says Duke Moulthrop, Health and Safety, and Environmental Coordinator for Atlas Pressed Metals. In addition to leading the Atlas Safety Committee, Duke is a cofounder of the “Zone Defense” Safety system program launched in 2021.
